A low growing and dense shrub with narrow grey-green, club-shaped leaves. It flowers in spring to late summer with pink to purple flowers. It is drought hardy and can tolerate moderate frost. It is best in a well-drained soil in a warm sunny and low-humidity environment. Best planted on slopes or mounds on sandy to rocky soil. it will be a shorter lived plant in humid areas.
